Our Roots

Spanning six generations of continuous family ownership, Betts Company has evolved from its humble beginnings as the first spring manufacturer in the western United States into a diversified company that serves heavy duty transportation, automotive aftermarket, and other industrial sectors.

2023 marks 155 proud years of U.S. manufacturing ingenuity and excellence that started in 1868 with the founding of Betts Spring Company in San Francisco, California.

Our continued success is a byproduct of The Betts Way – our guiding principles for Improving the Way Things Move® for our customers, suppliers, associates, and local community.

Our Vision

Each generation of the Betts family has strived to achieve a straightforward but challenging goal – to leave the Company in a “better place” for the next generation. Achieving this goal has required new skills and a renewed vision with each Betts Company leader.

President Bill Betts and CEO Mike Betts lead the way for the current generation of Betts associates, setting forth a clear path for Betts Company to provide leadership and strategy for its three divisions, support local communities through initiatives and education, and become the employer of choice in the Central Valley.
